Jennifer is the owner and founder of JLM Marriage and Family Therapy Inc.
Hello and welcome to my practice! My name is Jennifer Manderscheid and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over thirteen years of experience treating individuals, families and couples with a variety of psychotherapy needs. If you have made it to my website you have already taken the first and critical step towards creating lasting and positive change in your life or the life of someone you love.
After growing up in Orange County I moved to San Diego to complete my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and my Master of Arts Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy both from the University of San Diego. From there I began my journey as a therapist and found a passion and interest in working with children, teens and adults with learning differences including ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Asperger Syndrome and High Functioning Autism. Through this work I have gained valuable and effective skills in the areas of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, behavior modification, parent training and multisystemic therapy approaches. I am a certified positive discipline parent educator. I have worked in non-profit, private practice and school settings. I have a wealth of experience in collaborating with community resources to provide comprehensive support.
In addition to my work with children, adolescents and families I enjoy and have experience treating adults and couples. My approaches to therapy are interactive and help to provide support and feedback for dealing with life’s most difficult challenges or transitions. I have completed trainings and workshops in evidenced based treatment methods such as Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Emotion Focused Couples Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.
Lastly, I am a certified yoga instructor and believe strongly in a holistic approach to health and wellness. The research on the benefits of mindfulness based practice is convincing and I enjoy bringing elements of this into my work with children, teens and adults who may be interested. Outside of the therapy room I have experience teaching at the university level, teaching yoga in community and studio settings as well as consulting with various organizations on providing collaborative care for special needs children and their families.
I hope to see you soon!

Tara Rhiannon Tobin, MA LMFT
Therapist, LMFT 52360
Hello, my name is Rhiannon Tobin and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I have been providing therapy for over ten years, primarily working with children, adolescents, and families. I specialize in helping children, teens, and young adults dealing with anxiety, depression, and ADHD as well as assisting parents with skills to help their children thrive emotionally, academically, and socially. My passion is to help all ages learn effective coping strategies to manage challenges related to attention limits, anxiety, depression, and anger/aggression. Another strong focus of my practice is with couples and the various types of relationships we have in our lives. Here, learning and mastering positive and effective communication and problem-solving skills is key to creating supportive partnerships and increasing our quality of life.
Originally from the East Coast, I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Minor in Studio Art from Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland. I then obtained my Master’s degree in Marital and Family Therapy with a concentration in Art Therapy from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. With a specialty in art therapy, I frequently utilize art interventions to further assist the process of therapy by allowing us to more freely access underlying themes in our lives that may motivate or hinder us towards reaching our goals. In addition to art therapy, I utilize interventions from cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, family systems theory, and mindfulness. These approaches support the processes of increasing awareness of our thoughts and behaviors, developing more effective strategies/skills to make changes and reach personal goals, and ultimately lead to a sense of feeling more balanced and satisfied with our lives.
I believe that in order for the therapeutic process to be successful, we will focus on your strengths and you being the “expert” in your life. As a facilitator of growth and awareness, I look forward to helping you
